It was the year of 1665 when the Great Plague hit the streets of London. Initially, it inflicted itself on the poor and needy areas of the city, of little consequence to the powers that be, but it wasn't long before London was in turmoil as the Bubonic plague spread disease and death to all corners of the city. No-one, it seems, was immune.
The horrifying and agonising symptoms of this mystery disease are on display for all to see at The London Dungeon. What started as a mere headache or fever, soon escalated, with swellings appearing in the groin and armpits which oozed pus and blood. The pain from these blisters was too much for some, who threw themselves from buildings in desperation. Skin turned black as it was damaged and within a week, most victims were dead.
Experience the dread and fear for yourself as you walk through the groaning streets of London to the chilling calls of "bring out your dead". But prepare to be shocked and horrified at what you see.
