Jack The Ripper

Jack the Ripper

One of the most renowned serial killers in history, Jack The Ripper, hit the East End of London in September 1888. Now, just a mile down the road from the fateful streets, the Jack The Ripper experience follows the murderers bloody footsteps as he carried out his horrific crimes of torture and murder.

Whitechapel in the 17th century was not a pleasant place to live, with crime and unemployment levels high and living conditions very low. Muggings and violence were at an all time high and the area was ruled by rival gangs. However, the horrific nature of these gruesome attacks in the autumn of '88 shocked a nation, bringing angered citizens to the streets lobbying for justice and often taking the law into their own hands.

Five prostitutes located within one square mile of each other were targeted by the Ripper, their throats cut and their bodies left mutilated with organs missing. The rather precise butchering of these girls led some to believe that the murderer had anatomical knowledge beyond that of an average person, leading some doctors to be brought under suspicion.

Ten weeks and five murders was all it took to make Jack the Ripper a household name. The gruesome nature of the attacks caused uproar around the country but to this day, the identity behind the name remains a mystery and speculation is still high.

Discover the facts about this fascinating history and see if you can unveil any more of the secrets to satisfy your curiosity, if you dare.
