Otters

Oban Otters

The SEA LIFE Sanctuary at Obdan now boasts a spectacular Otter enclosure that provides the otters an expansive and natural environment; catering to its two residents, Fingal and Sula, with a diving pool, shallower pools and their own holt.

The otter spends a large amount of time under water, their bodies perfectly suited with soft underfur protected by the outer guard hairs that trap a layer of air to keep them warm. Visitors to the SEA LIFE Sanctuary can now witness the breathtaking sight of the otters graceful under water life thanks to the new underwater viewing area.

Along with increasing awareness of conservation efforts, Otter Creek, which was opened by otter enthusiast Terry Nutkins in 2002, provides regular feeding displays and talks so that visitors are fully aware of all the issues affecting these fascinating creatures.
