Seal Hospital

Oban Seal

The seas and lochs near the Scottish SEA LIFE Sanctuary are home to both Common and Grey seals and the Seal Hospital cares for pups from both species.

The SEA LIFE Sanctuary at Oban has become the focus for abandoned seal pups on the West Coast of Scotland since they were given a Common Seal pup by the Suffolk Wildlife County Park in 1980. The pup had been abandoned by her mother but after much handling b humans was unable to be returned to the wild and has remained in the Sanctuary and continues to provide amusement to visitors
