The National SEA LIFE Centre in Birmingham is a fantastic home for more than 4,500 freshwater and marine creatures. It takes the visitor on an exciting journey around this underwater world, from river to ocean waters. The attraction has four floors of captivating displays, each of which offers a different glimpse of creatures and plants that live in the water.
As one of the city's most popular tourist attractions, the Birmingham SEA LIFE Centre boasts the biggest aquarium in the country with an exciting, world first 360 degree transparent tunnel running right through the middle. This AMAZING feature enables guests to stand, suspended in the middle of the ocean as sharks, skate, rays and a host of other marine life swim around them.
The enormous one million litre ocean tank also homes two Green Sea Turtles named Gulliver and
Molokai. Due to being hand reared, they cannot be returned to the wild, but they coexist with black tip reef sharks and the other tropical reef fish quite happily as they would do in the wild.
On top of this monster display are many other smaller scale attractions to keep the whole family happy. A popular exhibit is the Kingdom of the Seahorse which doubles up as a conservation breeding centre where you can see mating, pregnant and recently born sea-horses, which is definitely worth a visit.

Other themed displays include an otter sanctuary focusing on river life and a tropical sea with coral, manta rays, seahorses and other colourful tropical fish. The huge cylindrical jellyfish tank is lit with UV light, creating a mesmerising show for all to see. Claws features the centre's giant Japanese spider crab, along with numerous other fascinating crabs and lobster.
The NEW attraction AmaZonia, is the tropical hub of the SEA LIFE Centre in Birmingham. With dangerous predators, such as razor toothed piranhas and poison dart frogs, lurking in the depths, the Birmingham SEA LIFE Centre really is turning up the heat to make sure it remains one of the city's most popular attractions.
With 30 new displays from all over the world, come and learn about exotic creatures from waters such as the Caribbean, the Red Sea and other tropical locations. Visitors are invited to step into an underwater jungle and meet the black reef tip sharks and volatile barracuda in their beautiful coral habitats.

The National SEA LIFE Centre has disabled facilities throughout and access to all areas, with wide walkways through the themed areas and displays. Disabled toilets are on site with lifts to every floor. The attraction is also fully accessible for pushchairs including double buggies, with baby changing facilities available.
