The SEA LIFE Centre on Blackpool's famous Golden Mile, houses one of Europe's largest collections of marine life. Its specialist feature is the dramatic shark centre piece, 'The Lost City of Atlantis', which invites visitors to walk through the AMAZING underwater Crystal Tunnel, and come face to face with these incredible and intimidating creatures of the deep. This is one of the largest tropical shark collections in Europe with some species growing up to 8 feet in length.

Blackpool SEA LIFE Centre gives you a glimpse of a mysterious underwater world which you can explore at your leisure, with over 50 displays of the most incredible marine and freshwater creatures in the world.

A recent attraction at Blackpool is the 'AmaZone', a recreation of the exciting Amazon rainforest. You are invited into a jungle world where you are surrounded by the sights, sounds and physical atmosphere of a jungle, as if you were actually in the Amazon itself. With over 80 different freshwater species including deadly poison dart frogs and menacing Piranhas, why fork out for the air fare to the Amazon?!


The NEWEST addition to the Blackpool SEA LIFE Centre is their sensational jellyfish display. 'Jellyfish - Phantoms of the Deep' features five different species from all over the world. The stunning display tank is lit with UV lights and the hypnotic soundtrack accompaniment creates a truly mysterious experience for all to enjoy.

The jellyfish is the most common creature of the sea and this collection includes varieties such as the Native Moon, the Lagoon and the Upside-Down Jellyfish. Did you know that jellyfish are nearly 95% water and have no heart or brain? You can learn everything about these fascinating creatures on your visit to Blackpool.

The awesome octopus has now arrived at the Blackpool SEA LIFE Centre. You can meet the Australian Blue Ring Octopus and the Crown of Thorns Starfish, two of the most deadly creatures in the world, with venom that can kill a man within 5 seconds. Learn more of these incredible facts as you make your way round the colourful SEA LIFE Centre. It is also home to the UKs only sea snake exhibit, where you can see a spectacular collection of deadly sea snakes, each able to deliver enough venom to kill three people.

With all these tropical treats to wonder at we could be forgiven for forgetting the treasures we have on our own doorstep. You can check out what there is to see in the British Sea's with the Quayside and Victoria Pier displays. If you want to get a bit closer to the action there's a special Sea Laboratory where adults and children are able to handle rock pool dwellers such as crabs and starfish in the touch pool. You can also experience the elegant world of the sea horse in 'The Kingdom of the Seahorse' boasting five different species.
