The SEA LIFE Centre in Brighton makes for a fantastic day out for all the family, especially if the weather takes a turn for the worse. The attraction combines the world's oldest aquarium, dating from 1872, with over 50 different displays hosting modern marine and freshwater life.

The underwater world lies opposite the entrance to Brighton Pier and with the beautiful Victorian architecture and the variety of things to see, it really will be a day to remember. Over the years, since the Aquarium first opened, things have changed considerably. Not least since the SEA LIFE Centre took over the running of things in the nineties, bringing a concerned interest in conservation to add to the entertainment factor of the attraction.

On top of stunning views of sharks and stingrays that you will see on your walk through the longest underwater observation tunnel in England, you can now see more through additional viewing windows and a unique walkway over the top of the huge tank.

There is so much to learn about the amazing creatures that you are introduced to at the Brighton SEA LIFE Centre. Discover the fascinating secrets behind the pre-historic crustaceans of the sea with their crushing claws and colourful shells. Don't miss the 27 stone giant green turtle in its tropical reef. This beautiful coraled world is also home to another giant sea turtle living harmoniously with the black-tipped reef sharks, circling their very own shipwreck.

Home to over 150 species there's a lot to learn but you'll be captivated as you come face to face with creatures you would never be able to meet in the wild. From shrimps to sharks and eels to octopuses, there is so much to see. Every day the octopuses are given a task to do such as finding their way through a maze to find food or taking the lid off a jar. This fascinating display aims to demonstrate the creatures' intelligence with interpretation. Make sure you take the opportunity to hold some of the crabs in the touchpools and feed the baby rays, but don't get too close when the piranhas are hungry!

The newest attraction is not to be missed on your visit to the SEA LIFE Centre in Brighton, it is the incredible world of VENOM. Sea snakes, poison arrow dart frogs and jellyfish are just a few of the world's most deadly creatures that you can see face to face when you call in at the Brighton SEA LIFE Centre.

Another brilliant attraction not to be missed at the Brighton SEA LIFE Centre is the Kingdom of the Seahorse, where you can see these fragile and highly endangered species in a magical world of their own.
