The SEA LIFE Centre, Scarborough is home to thousands of spectacular sea creatures, and its just waiting to be explored. This is a perfect all weather day out for the whole family, a real treat not to be missed.

Scarborough is also a marine rescue facility where stranded, sick or injured seal pups are rescued and nursed back to health. Similarly, the otter sanctuary and the sea turtle convalescence facility are favourites for guests visiting the Sea Life Centre. Here you can meet these gorgeous creatures and learn about the important work that the sanctuary does and what you can do to help in the conservation struggle.

The Lair of the Octopus exhibition is a chance to meet these fantastically bizarre creatures with their eight legs and blue blood. Did you know that they also have three hearts and are cleverer than your average pet dog? You can discover more of these fabulous facts on your visit to the Scarborough SEA LIFE Centre.

For 2007, Scarborough have a NEW exhibit. The Turtle Reef turtlesis a display of some of the most graceful and unfortunately, endangered species on earth. You can walk through the underwater coral reef and watch the Loggerhead turtles gliding past you, sharing the tank with two species of shark and a variety of tropical fish, which will keep you mesmerized for ages.

Among the other exciting displays is the recent addition, Claws, where Giant Japanese Spider Crabs stretch their claws to a span of up to 3 metres! The Jellyfish are just magical in their eerily lit tank and the penguins are always a popular attraction, with their funny waddling and entertaining games.

The SEA LIFE Centre is set with the beautiful view over Scarborough's North Bay. With over thirty AMAZING displays of different habitats both marine and freshwater, the centre has a fantastic array of creatures from starfish to octopus and shrimps to sharks.

The Ocean Tank is possibly the most impressive feature, with an underwater walkthrough tunnel, which gives you spectacular views, not only of the sea creatures, but also of the wreck of the brigatine Black-eyed Susan, that sank off the Scarborough coast back in the nineteenth century.

At Scarborough SEA LIFE Centre there is so much to learn about. You can take a step back in history to the Jurassic Seas, where you can discover all about how life on Earth first came about. Then meet the ocean's dinosaurs, unchanged even after millions of years. Captain Pugwash will give you a helping hand as you learn about all that lies beneath.

Additional programmes of feeding, talks and demonstrations as well as the chance to handle creatures in the touch pool make for a truly fabulous day out for all the family.
